My platform: People first, rooted in west virginia
Shane Woodrum is committed to serving our community with practical solutions, putting people first, and making sure every family, veteran, and worker in District 61 has a voice in government. Discover the key issues and how we plan to build a stronger West Virginia, together.

Supporting our veterans
As a veteran myself, I understand the unique challenges faced by our servicemen and women. We must reduce delays in VA healthcare, ensuring timely access to critical services. Our plan includes expanding resources for veteran mental health, employment, and education programs, and advocating for state-level solutions that truly honor their sacrifice. We'll work with local VA offices to set up state-level liaison programs for faster appointments, provide mental health counseling and peer-support programs, and partner with local colleges and businesses for job placement.

Strengthening education
Our children deserve the best. We will support teachers with fair pay, manageable class sizes, and the flexibility they need to teach effectively. Investing in schools means providing modern resources, technology, and programs that prepare students for future success. Expanding access to early childhood education will help families and strengthen our workforce. We'll push for competitive teacher pay and retention incentives, implement after-school and summer programs, and expand state-funded early childhood education programs for working families in District 61 and West Virginia

Building a stronger district
A thriving District 61 means a strong local economy, accessible healthcare, and vibrant communities. We will promote small businesses and workforce development, invest in infrastructure projects, and support industries that drive West Virginia's economy. Improving healthcare access means reducing wait times, expanding mental health and addiction recovery resources, and advocating for affordable care. For our communities, we will strengthen volunteer programs, youth sports, and local initiatives. We'll support small business grants, invest in roads and broadband, encourage apprenticeships, lobby for clinic funding, expand telehealth, and hold regular town halls to ensure your voice is heard.
